NEW YORK, NY September 5, 2012 – In recognition of Life Insurance Awareness Month, New York Life awarded James Dempsey from Scranton, PA, a freshman at Marywood University, a $2,000 LIFE Lesson Scholarship for his essay illustrating the need for life insurance. Mr. Dempsey’s essay documented his family’s struggle without life insurance coverage after his father’s unexpected death.
