New York Life is Named Corporate Sponsor of Hofstra University's Women's Basketball

Hofstra and New York Life’s Long Island Office Score with Season-Long Sponsorship

HEMPSTEAD, N.Y., November 17, 2011 — The Hofstra Athletics Department is proud to announce a new sponsorship agreement this year as New York Life joins the Pride Corporate Sponsorship family. Highlighting this agreement is the title sponsorship of the upcoming women’s basketball tournament, the New York Life Holiday Invitational. The holiday tournament will feature the Hofstra women’s basketball team hosting Auburn, Marist and Central Connecticut in a two-day tournament on December 21 and 22.

In addition to the tournament, New York Life will also be the presenting game sponsor at the Women’s Basketball home opener versus St. John’s on Friday, November 18 as well as the Think Pink/Girl Scout Day on February 19 and Family Fun Day on February 26.

The agreement includes major branding throughout the Mack Sports Complex including on the main scoreboard, on the basketball pole padding, and featured prominently on the concourse signage. The sponsorship also includes public address announcements, on-court promotions, co-branded giveaways, and Web presence on GoHofstra.com.

“We are very pleased to announce our new partnership with New York Life and are very grateful for their support,” commented Hofstra University Director of Athletics, Jack Hayes. “Hofstra Athletics is confident that this sponsorship will enable New York Life a great platform, in our women’s basketball program, to promote its brand and to highlight its proactive role in promoting women’s initiatives on Long Island and the greater New York metropolitan area.”

“New York Life is proud to be a part of the season-long sponsorship of the Hofstra women’s basketball team,” said Salvatore Farina, managing partner of the Long Island General Office of New York Life. “We are pleased to join the fans, students and alumni in our support of our hometown team of talented athletes that, like our agents, take great pride in their performance and believe that it can be achieved through great leadership, support, training and dedication.”
