Student-Created Business “Bon Voyage Travel” is Winner of New York Life Foundation-Funded Competition

NEW YORK, N.Y., April 25, 2012 – The New York Life Foundation announced that students from Fort Hamilton High School in Brooklyn, New York were the winning team for this year’s National Business Plan Competition held by Virtual Enterprises International (VEI). Bon Voyage Travel, the virtual business created by the students, received the highest marks from a panel of judges (who are business professionals representing different industries) for their business plan for two unique travel packages.

The competition is a three-day challenge for students of VEI’s programs from across the country to demonstrate their global business expertise through written business plans and oral presentations. The Foundation funded the competition as part of a $1 million grant announced earlier this year.
