Training Magazine Names New York Life to Top 125 List

Recognition Highlights Company’s Commitment to Training and Development for the Second Year in a Row

NEW YORK, N.Y., February 20, 2013 - New York Life has earned a spot on Training magazine’s annual Training Top 125 list, which ranks companies’ excellence in employer-sponsored training and development programs.

“Congratulations to the 2013 Training Top 125 winners. Their close alignment between training and corporate strategic goals led to strong financial performance, increased employee engagement, and a learning-centric culture,” said Lorri Freifeld, editor-in-chief of Training magazine. “Every year, the competition ratchets up, and it was not easy to select only 125 winners.”

“We are proud to once again be named to Training magazine’s Top 125,” said Michael Molinaro, vice president and chief learning officer, New York Life. “To be recognized among the best and most successful learning and development programs in the U.S. and worldwide is validation of New York Life’s ongoing commitment to helping our employees advance as professionals, all in support of better meeting the needs of our agents and policyholders.”

Now in its 13th year, the Training Top 125 ranking is based on myriad benchmarking statistics such as total training budget; percentage of payroll; number of training hours per employee program; goals, evaluation, measurement, and workplace surveys; hours of training per employee annually; and detailed formal programs. The ranking is determined by assessing a range of qualitative and quantitative factors, including financial investment in employee development, the scope of development programs, and how closely such development efforts are linked to business goals and objectives.
