Improved Site Makes it Easier for Chinese-American Families to Access Important Financial Information
NEW YORK, N.Y., May 9, 2002 New York Life Insurance Company today announced it has upgraded the company's Chinese language Web site, www.newyorklife.com/nyl/chinese, to ensure that Chinese-American policyholders and the agents who work with them can easily access information about New York Life's products and services. This Web site, which is popular with New York Life's Chinese-American policyholders, will surpass their needs for superior user-friendly service and up-to-the-minute information about products. The site features an online form for submitting questions and requests to receive a personalized, direct response.
"The Chinese language Web site is tailored to the distinctive style and fundamental values of the culture, while remaining consistent with the company's marketing and branding strategy," said Sally Mak, corporate vice president of the Cultural Marketing Division. "New York Life is proud to offer Chinese-Americans a convenient way to find out more about our insurance products and how our skilled agents can help them achieve their financial goals."
The upgraded site, which is written in traditional Chinese characters, has new written material about the company's products and history, in addition to recruiting material for our national network of agents and managers. New graphics on the site feature elements of the Chinese culture and traditional colors of red and gold. SINA, a leading Internet media and technology company, produced the site's new infrastructure and design.
New York Life launched its Chinese language Web site in 1999 as a comprehensive Internet source for insurance and financial information. The site features online financial planning tools and information about topics such as life and long-term care insurance, tax deferral, paying for education and annuities, as well as information about career agent opportunities. For those who do not have access to the Internet, New York Life has a service hotline with Mandarin and Cantonese-speaking operators to assist policyholders and agents.
