Web Site Enables Spanish-Speaking Families to Access Important Financial Information

NEW YORK, N.Y., February 5, 2003 — New York Life Insurance Company today announced it has launched a Spanish-language Web site  to ensure that policyholders and the agents who work with them can easily access information about New York Life?s products and services in Spanish. This comprehensive resource for insurance and financial information provides frequently updated news and information resources.

"The Spanish-language Web site is part of New York Life's ongoing efforts to serve the Hispanic community in the United States," said Juan Roberto Job, corporate vice president in the Cultural Marketing Division. "We are proud to offer Spanish-speaking consumers a convenient way to learn more about the importance of life insurance products and to discover how skilled New York Life agents can help them achieve their financial goals."

Interested individuals can access an education center filled with financial information about life insurance needs at various life stages, and important topics such as starting a business, buying a home, getting married or divorced, and coping with the death of a family member. Visitors can also find resources about topics such as tax deferral, paying for education, and annuities, as well as recruiting material about opportunities to pursue a career as an agent with the company. A recruiting section includes content geared to attract female candidates, as Latinas in business continue to be an important growth sector within the Hispanic community. The Web site contains written material about the company's mission and corporate values, and its history of financial strength and commitment to its policyholders.

The site features an interactive online form and e-mail addresses for submitting questions and requests to receive a personalized, in-language response.
