NYLIAC MainStay Annuities Achieve DALBAR Award for Superior Customer Service for Third Consecutive Year
NEW YORK, N.Y., February 21, 2003 — New York Life Insurance Company, parent company of New York Life Insurance and Annuity Corporation (NYLIAC), announced today that NYLIAC's MainStay Annuities received the 2002 DALBAR Annuity Service Excellence Award for outstanding customer service. This is the third consecutive year that NYLIAC's MainStay Annuities has received this prestigious award.

DALBAR, a financial services market research and consulting firm, only grants its service awards to the industry's elite service providers and measures company merit based on rigorous evaluations over a 12-month period. DALBAR evaluates forty annuity providers' competency in service both over the telephone and through written communications to customers. Companies that exceed a variety of industry benchmarks after one year of testing earn the DALBAR Service Award. This year only ten annuity providers received this prestigious award.
