Company Remains the "Triple Crown" Winner

NEW YORK, N.Y., September 4, 2003 — For a record-breaking 49th consecutive year, New York Life Insurance Company is the dominant leader of the Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT), the premier association of financial professionals. With 2,184 MDRT members, 118 more than last year, the gap between New York Life and its nearest competitor is 661 members. New York Life also again notched a "Triple Crown" victory, topping the rankings for Top of the Table and Court of the Table membership, in addition to overall MDRT membership.

New York Life remains the "Triple Crown" winner, leading all three levels of the MDRT, with 64 members of Top of the Table, and 167 Court of the Table members. To qualify for the 2003 MDRT, based on production in 2002, applicants must have submitted proof of production equal to or greater than $65,000 of MDRT-eligible commissions or $130,000 of MDRT-eligible premiums and must have held membership in a MDRT-eligible professional association.

Global Expansion

New York Life International, LLC, the overseas arm of New York Life, produced a record 474 MDRT members from its operations in Hong Kong, India, Mexico, The Philippines, South Korea, Taiwan and Thailand, an increase of nearly 10 percent over last year's results. Seguros Monterrey New York Life, its subsidiary in Mexico, has produced 277 MDRT members, and ranks number 19 on the Top 100 MDRT companies list, jumping five spots from last year. With over 13,000 agents throughout Asia and Latin America, approximately 25 percent of total company sales are generated from New York Life International.
