NEW YORK, N.Y., January 14, 2003 — New York Life Insurance Company will be a Platinum sponsor at the Sixth Annual Rainbow/PUSH Coalition Wall Street Project conference, founded by Reverend Jesse L. Jackson, beginning today through January 17, 2003 at the Sheraton Hotel in midtown Manhattan. The program is titled, "Equity for All: Establishing the Agenda for Growth."

Fred Sievert, president, New York Life, will participate in a high-level luncheon roundtable addressing trends and opportunities in the insurance industry along with other industry leaders. Additionally, New York Life will participate in the Wall Street Project Career Expo as part of the company's strategy to recruit and retain a diverse pool of qualified employees. This conference will also cover such subjects as: business opportunities in sports, travel and tourism, the Hip Hop entertainment industry, supplier diversity, corporate governance and other timely topics through plenary sessions, panel discussions and a series of interesting workshops.
Earlier this year, New York Life formed a partnership with Rainbow/PUSH Coalition's One Thousand Churches Connected to provide financial education seminars at community churches in five cities across the United States. Through this effort, thousands of families will receive information on such critical topics as life insurance, annuities, long-term care insurance and college savings plans to enable them to take control of their financial well-being.
