Gaur
The Gaur is the largest of all wild cattle in the world, bigger than even the Wild Asiatic Water Buffalo and the Bison. In India the Gaur is found predominantly in the South, Northeast and Central parts of the country. They live in small herds of up to 40-50 individuals and graze on grasses, shoots and fruits. A vulnerable species, Gaurs are constantly hunted by man and prized for their huge horns.
