Participants In The Congressional Black Caucus Foundation Internship Program Recognized By New York Life

New York, NY, July 28, 2005 — Participants in the prestigious Congressional Black Caucus Foundation (CBCF) Internship Program attended a reception held at New York Life Insurance Company on Friday, July 22, 2005. The reception gave the interns an opportunity to ask a panel of young African-American New York Life executives questions about their personal and work-related achievements. Seven of this year's 43 selected interns are pictured with a New York Life executive officer and a representative from the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation, Inc. Pictured left to right: Ryshelle McCadney from Brooklyn, NY; Stefanie Rhodes, Jackson, MS; Troy Clair, internship program manager of the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation, Inc.; Christopher Cody, Memphis, TN; Mike Watson, first vice president and deputy general counsel of New York Life Insurance Company; Andre Gray, Jamaica, NY; Robert Cary, Cleveland, OH; Isaiah Wilson, Stafford, VA; and Jackeline Stewart, Bronx, NY.

The summer program allows talented undergraduate students to work on Capitol Hill with a member of the Congressional Black Caucus. Mr. Gray is interning for Rep. Gregory Meeks (NY); Ms. McCadney is interning for Rep. Edolphus Towns (NY); Ms. Stewart is interning for Rep. Charles Rangel (NY); Mr. Cary is interning with Rep. Stephanie Tubbs Jones (OH); Mr. Cody is interning with Rep. Harold Ford Jr. (TN); Ms. Rhodes is interning for Rep. William Jefferson (LA); and Mr. Wilson is interning with Rep. John Lewis (GA).

The program is funded in part by a grant from the New York Life Foundation. Through its Nurturing the Children initiative, the Foundation supports organizations, programs and services that target young people, particularly in the areas of mentoring, safe places to learn and grow, and educational enhancement opportunities.
