 New York Life Announces Executive Promotions in the Individual Policyholder Services Department
 
 
 

NEW YORK, N.Y., December 2, 2005 – New York Life Insurance Company announced that Gary J. Miller was promoted to Senior Vice President in the Individual Policyholder Services department reporting to Senior Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer Frank M. Boccio.

Mr. Miller is now responsible for the oversight of the company's regional customer service centers in Cleveland, Dallas and Minneapolis. He is also responsible for the variable products service center, NYLIFE Securities Service and the service operations for products distributed through banks and broker-dealers, all located in Manhattan.

He joined New York Life in 2002 as Vice President and was promoted in March 2003 to First Vice President. Prior to joining New York Life, Mr. Miller was vice president and director of mutual fund services with The Hartford Life Insurance Company. He also served as vice president of advisory services for Prudential Investments, leading the operational support for variable annuity and mutual funds entrance into third-party distribution. Additionally, Mr. Miller held executive positions at Delaware Valley Financial Services and The Penn Mutual Life Insurance Company.

Mr. Miller earned his B.S. in accounting at Widener University in Chester, Penn., where he also attended graduate school. Mr. Miller is an FINRA Supervisory Principal and Registered Representative. A native of Eddystone, Penn., and long-time resident of Chester and Delaware counties in Penn., Mr. Miller currently resides in Yardley, Penn. with his wife, Patricia. They have three adult sons, Matthew, Deron and Aaron.

In addition, Cindy E. Craft was promoted to Vice President and Chief of Staff in the Individual Policyholder Services department, also reporting to Mr. Boccio. Ms. Craft is now responsible for running the IPS Administrative Services Division, which includes Employee Development & Training, Departmental Communications, Quality Assurance & Internal Controls, Regulatory Review and Complaints Coordination. Previously, Ms. Craft served as an attorney in the company's Office of the General Counsel, where she handled contracts, corporate subsidiaries and copyright issues.

Ms. Craft earned a B.A. degree and graduated magna cum laude from SUNY at Albany. She later received her J.D. degree from St. John's Law School in 1992. She resides in Rockville Centre, N.Y., with her husband, Michael.
