NEW YORK, N.Y., July 13, 2006 – New York Life Insurance Company today announced that Deanna Mulligan has re-joined the company as senior vice president for Life and Annuity, its largest business operation. Ms. Mulligan reports to Sam Goldfinger, senior vice president and chief operating officer for the Life and Annuity operation.
“Deanna is joining a very successful Life and Annuity operation. With her extensive background in both management and consulting, she brings an exciting skill set to our Life and Annuity businesses,” said Ted Mathas, vice chairman of the board and chief operating officer, New York Life. “I am very confident that Deanna’s experience and judgment will help us to be even more successful in the future.”
Ms. Mulligan joins New York Life from AXA Financial, where she served as executive vice president of the Marketing and Product Development Group. In addition to leading the product design effort for AXA’s life insurance, annuities and retirement products, she spearheaded the integration planning team for AXA’s acquisition of Mutual of New York in 2004. Previously, she served eight years with McKinsey & Company, achieving the position of principal of the firm. Ms. Mulligan began her career at New York Life, where she served as assistant vice president of Product Management and Development prior to joining McKinsey.
Ms. Mulligan received a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Nebraska and an M.B.A. from Stanford Graduate School of Business. Ms. Mulligan and her husband reside in North Salem, N.Y., where she serves on the Historic Preservation Commission.
