NEW YORK, N.Y., July 20, 2006 — Participants in the prestigious Congressional Black Caucus Foundation (CBCF) Internship Program attended a reception held at New York Life Insurance Company on Friday, July 14, 2006. At the reception the interns were given the opportunity to ask a panel of young African-American executives from New York Life questions about their personal and work-related achievements. Seven of this year’s 43 selected interns are pictured with a New York Life executive officer and a representative from the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation, Inc.

Pictured (Top row from left to right): Lauren Weaver, from Shaker Heights, Ohio; Keren Johnson, from Los Angeles, California; Gregory D. The summer program allows talented undergraduate students to work on Capitol Hill with a member of the Congressional Black Caucus. Ms. Weaver is interning for Rep. This is the sixth year the program has been funded in part by a grant from the New York Life Foundation. The New York Life Foundation is the major vehicle through which New York Life Insurance Company channels contributions to national and local nonprofit organizations. Through its Nurturing the Children initiative, the Foundation supports organizations, programs and services that target young people, particularly in the areas of mentoring, safe places to learn and grow, and educational enhancement opportunities.
