Will Head Corporate Responsibility and Charitable Giving for Company

NEW YORK, N.Y., June 20, 2007–New York Life Insurance Company announced today that Christine Park has joined the company as vice president of Corporate Responsibility, and serves as president of the New York Life Foundation. She reports to Steven Rautenberg, senior vice president of Corporate Communications.

Ms. Park is responsible for managing the company’s philanthropic and volunteer activities. The New York Life Foundation, nationally known for its charitable giving, and Corporate Responsibility, the unit active in focusing employee volunteer activities, both report directly to Ms. Park. In 2006, the New York Life Foundation marked $100 million in giving since its founding.

Ms. Park most recently served as president of the Alcatel-Lucent Foundation. Prior to that, she served as first vice president and manager of corporate giving for Washington Mutual in Seattle, and held leadership positions in philanthropy with the Dayton Hudson Corporation (now the Target Corporation) in Minneapolis. Prior to joining Dayton Hudson, Ms. Park coordinated many special projects as an assistant to the mayor of St. Paul, Minnesota, and worked as a school teacher and community organizer.

Ms. Park currently serves on the board of directors of the national Council on Foundations and has chaired their Corporate Advisory Committee. She also serves on the board of the New York Regional Association of Grantmakers, and is the immediate past chair of the Conference Board’s Contributions Council.

New York Life offers comprehensive sales training and a wealth of marketing resources for new agents, as well as continuous support from a staff of experts. Even after agents are established in their careers, New York Life offers ongoing workshops and programs to improve their knowledge of the business.

Ms. Park earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Minnesota. She currently resides in South Orange and Ocean Grove, New Jersey.

The New York Life Foundation is the major vehicle through which New York Life Insurance Company channels contributions to national and local nonprofit organizations. Through its Nurturing the Children initiative, the Foundation supports organizations, programs and services that target young people, particularly in the areas of mentoring, safe places to learn and grow, and educational enhancement opportunities.
