Best Companies for African Americans
For the fifth year in a row, New York Life Insurance Company was named one of the Best Companies for African Americans by Family Digest Magazine. Over 1,000 companies were evaluated for inclusion on the list of 35 Best Companies. New York Life was named an employer of choice based on work/life programs, supplier diversity, employment, retention and promotion of African Americans. New York Life was one of only four companies to also be recognized as one of the Best Companies in CEO Leadership of Diversity.

BusinessWeek 50 Best Places To Launch a Career
New York Life Insurance Company has been named to BusinessWeek's annual “The Best Places to Launch a Career" list for 2007. New York Life is ranked #47 out of 95 companies listed. To determine which employers were best for entry-level workers, a three-part method was used: a survey of career services directors at U.S. colleges, an employer survey on hiring, pay, benefits, and training programs, and finally, research data from a company that surveyed 44,000 U.S. undergraduates.

Hispanic Business magazine's Best Companies, Best Practices
New York Life Insurance Company has been named to Hispanic Business magazine's “Diversity Elite,” with a listing in its Best Companies, Best Practices directory, which is an annual list determined by more than 30 variables measuring a company’s commitment to Hispanic hiring, promotion, marketing, philanthropy, and supplier diversity. New York Life was recognized for going beyond workforce diversity initiatives and implementing strategies to reach more Hispanic consumers as well as increasing our business with minority and Hispanic-owned suppliers.

LATINA Style magazine's 50 Best Companies for Latinas to Work For
For the seventh year in a row, New York Life Insurance Company was named one of the "50 Best Companies for Latinas to Work For" in the United States by LATINA Style magazine. New York Life was ranked among the top 12 after more than 1,000 prominent U.S. corporations were evaluated. New York Life was recognized based on issues that LATINA Style readers identified as most important to them in the workplace, including the number of Latina executives, mentoring programs, Latina board members, educational opportunities, alternative work policies, dependent/child care support, employee benefits, women’s issues, job retraining, affinity groups and Hispanic relations. The LATINA Style 50 serves as a respected and important source of employment and career information for Hispanic women.

Profiles in Diversity Journal's International Innovation in Diversity Award of Excellence
New York Life received an "International Innovation in Diversity Award of Excellence" from Profiles in Diversity Journal for 2007. New York Life was given the "Award of Excellence” as one of eighteen recognized companies. According to Profiles in Diversity Journal,New York Life is considered competitive in the diversity arena and deserving of recognition for our exemplary innovations in diversity.
New York Life was acknowledged for its formation of four new Employee Networking Groups (ENGs) - the African American, Asian, Hispanic and, the Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender Employee Network Group. Hispanic Enterprise Magazine's Top 50 Corporations for Supplier Diversity
In 2007, New York Life ranked in the Top 50 Corporations for Supplier Diversity in Hispanic Enterprise Magazine's list of U.S. corporations that partner with diversity suppliers. The list recognizes the Company's commitment to the development and promotion of the Supplier Diversity Program, which recruits and trains minority suppliers by offering mentoring opportunities, training, and networking meetings. New York Life was recognized for attending supplier fairs as part of its supplier diversity strategy and being an active participant in the National Minority Supplier Development Council.

For the third year in a row, New York Life was named one of the "Best Workplaces for Commuters" for 2006 by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT). New York Life was recognized for environmental leadership and specifically for offering commuter benefits that reach the National Standard of Excellence. In addition, New York Life was named to this list for being committed to reducing air pollution and commuting–related stress, making a lasting impact on the environment, the local community, and employees.

New York Life has been named to Latin Business' 2006 Corporate Diversity Honor Roll for its initiatives to promote diversity. New York Life was one of 21 companies recognized as a company doing the most on behalf of the nation's women and minority communities.
