When faced with big decisions, you turn to those you trust most for guidance.
When it came time for LaSans Ridgely to choose a new career, she turned to someone she, and many others, have trusted for guidance — her father, New York Life agent Gil Ridgely.
“I wanted a stable career that would recognize my ability to excel, and one that would compensate me well for my hard work. I also wanted to educate and help people,” she says. “While talking to my father about my goals, he suggested I consider becoming a New York Life agent, too.”
“When I thought about it, he’d always been happy and excited about his career as a New York Life agent,” LaSans recalls. “He worked with clients he wanted to work with, set his own schedule, and was well compensated. I liked the idea of being able to control my career in the same way — of being my own boss.”
Making a Difference
An agent now for three years, LaSans has never regretted her decision to follow in her father’s footsteps. “I’m making a real difference in people’s lives — helping them prepare for the retirement of their dreams, ensure their family’s financial security, and create wealth to be passed to their children,” she says. Gil and LaSans specialize in selling a variety of life insurance and retirement planning products from New York Life to employees of schools in predominantly African American communities.
A Career that Offers Balance and Stability
LaSans considers a career with New York Life ideal for young women. “It’s a great opportunity to build your own business, set your own schedule, and have unlimited income potential,” says LaSans. She adds, “And still have time for a family.”
Millions of people have turned to a New York Life agent when faced with decisions impacting their financial security. Why? “It’s a strong company that’s been in business for more than 160 years,” LaSans explains. “Everybody knows New York Life Insurance Company. It’s The Company You Keep!”
