KPMG Vice Chairman Will Join New York Life Board in February 2008
New York, N.Y., October 4, 2007–Sy Sternberg, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of New York Life Insurance Company, announced today that S. Thomas Moser, a vice chairman of KPMG, will join the New York Life board following his retirement from KPMG in February 2008. Mr. Moser, 60, will join the board's Insurance and Operations Committee.

Mr. Moser is a vice chairman of KPMG LLP, the U.S. member firm of KPMG International, which offers audit, tax, and
advisory serves to clients in such industries as financial services, consumer products, government, health care, and
technology. He joined KPMG in 1970, became an audit partner, and held positions of increasing responsibility including
national and global leader for the high technology and consumer and industrial industry practices, member of the board of
directors, vice chairman – industries, and vice chairman – strategy.
Mr. Moser received a B.S. degree in Business Administration from the University of North Carolina. He and wife Mary Lynn reside in Charlotte, North Carolina. He serves on the board and executive committee of the global organization Students in Free Enterprise.
