NEW YORK, N.Y., DECEMBER 11, 2007 – New York Life Insurance Company announced today that Susan Cartledge has joined New York Life International (NYLI) as senior vice president of the Human Resources Department, reporting to Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Executive, Richard Mucci.
Ms. Cartledge is responsible for all aspects of NYLI’s human resources activities, including talent management, compensation and benefits, human resources consulting, and recruiting. She will oversee the personnel activities in the eight markets of operation, which include Argentina, China, Hong Kong, India, Mexico, South Korea, Taiwan and Thailand.
"Ms. Cartledge began her career at IBM, where she supported business units in the U.K. and across Europe as a human resources business partner. She later served as director of compensation in the Global Business Services division for three years where she was responsible for compensation delivery for all employees and executives. In 2000, Ms. Cartledge moved to IBM’s U.S. operations, and most recently she served as director of human resources for IBM’s Global Managed Business Process Services Division. In this capacity, she led a team of global human resources professionals that supported initiatives in the areas of executive leadership and development, performance management, talent management and compensation.
Ms. Cartledge earned a bachelor’s degree from University of Wolverhampton, in Wolverhampton, England, and a master’s degree from University of Portsmouth, in Portsmouth, England. She currently resides in New York City.
