“I’m most proud of our similarities.”

My dad was a shoe salesman and worked as a cab driver on the side. He was also a great artist, though he never really pursued his art. He always seemed happy just living his life as he had always lived it. When I was younger, this bothered me, but it is also probably why I eventually became so driven to succeed.

When I look at us, though, I don’t really see all those different choices we made in our careers and our lifestyles. Instead, I remember the times when I was a kid and we’d sit together watching old Marx Brothers movies on TV, laughing at all the same parts. My dad and I always had the same sense of humor and when my own kids and I laugh together, I see it in them too. Just knowing I’m doing as good a job as my dad did to keep us all smiling…that’s what matters to me.
