Making a Difference with Life Insurance Two survivor stories: Paul Maloney and Lamar Odom. New York Life policyowner Paul Maloney was able to successfully battle cancer, with a little help from the living benefits in his policy along the way. NBA champion Lamar Odom details how the small policy his mother bought helped keep him on the path to his dream after she died when he was just 12 years old.
