eDelivery FAQs

  • What is eDelivery?

    A) eDelivery is a service that delivers eligible documents (see “How does eDelivery work?” below) electronically through our Virtual Service Center (VSC) at www.newyorklife.com/vsc to owners of New York Life Insurance and Annuity Corporation. (NYLIAC) variable annuity or variable universal life insurance or New York Life Insurance Company (NYLIC) life and annuity policies. NYLIAC is a wholly owned subsidiary of New York Life Insurance Company.
  • How does eDelivery work?

    A) Once you enroll in eDelivery, whenever eligible policyowner documents– such as annual reports, semi–annual reports, prospectuses, and quarterly policy summaries (preceding are available for variable universal life and variable annuity policies only), consolidated statements and federal income tax forms (i.e. 1099–INT, 1099–R, 5498, Annual Policy Summary(APS) and the Privacy Notice) are available, we will send you an e–mail with a personalized link to a secure Web site where these documents can be viewed. By clicking on the link provided in the e–mail, you will be brought directly to our Virtual Service Center (VSC) at www.newyorklife.com/vsc where you will be able to view, download, save and/or print your documents.
  • Who qualifies for eDelivery?

    A) Electronic delivery is currently limited only to policyowners of variable products (except for NYLIAC’s Variable Life Insurance (VLI) product) and policyowners eligible for consolidated statements and/or federal income tax forms. A consolidated statement is only available to policyowners who have more than one policy and who meet certain other criteria. At this time, eDelivery is only available for products that are owned by individuals and is not available for any New York Life products that are owned by Corporations, Trusts, or other entities.
  • What documents will be delivered electronically via eDelivery?

    A) You can elect to receive eligible documents– such as annual reports, semi–annual reports, prospectuses, and quarterly policy summaries (preceding are available for variable universal life and variable annuity policies only), consolidated statements and federal income tax forms (i.e. 1099–INT, 1099–R, 5498). At this time, all other communications concerning your policy (i.e., confirmation statements and letters) will continue to be sent in paper form via U.S. mail. However, we plan to expand the selection of documents available through eDelivery.
  • If I subscribe to eDelivery, will I receive confirmation of my eDelivery preferences?

    A) Yes, a confirmation will be sent to the e–mail address that you used to subscribe to eDelivery. This e–mail will list your eDelivery preferences. You can change these preferences (or your e–mail address) by simply using the link provided in the confirmatory e–mail to change your settings on the Virtual Service Center (VSC) at www.newyorklife.com/vsc.
  • When will I be notified when my documents are available to be viewed?

    A) You will receive an e–mail notification when your documents are available to be viewed.
  • How do I access my documents?

    A) Simply click on the link(s) provided in your eDelivery notification. They will bring you directly to a secure Web site on our Virtual Service Center (VSC) at www.newyorklife.com/vsc where you will be able to view, download, save and/or print these documents.
  • I subscribed for eDelivery, but I have not received anything yet. When should I expect to be notified?

    A) Based on your delivery preferences, eligible documents– such as annual reports, semi-annual reports, prospectuses, and quarterly policy summaries (preceding are available for variable universal life and variable annuity policies only), consolidated statements and federal income tax forms (i.e. 1099–INT, 1099–R, 5498) will be delivered electronically in accordance with regular mailing dates. In addition, if your e–mail address has changed, it is important to update your eDelivery preferences on the Virtual Service Center (VSC) www.newyorklife.com/vsc.
