New York Life Foundation
Established in 1979 by New York Life Insurance Company, the New York Life Foundation is the major vehicle through which the Company channels its contributions to national and local nonprofit organizations.

Periodically, the Foundation selects an area of special priority. Our current focus, Nurturing the Children. directs the majority of the Foundation's resources toward organizations, programs and services aimed at helping young people. This initiative specifically focuses on safe places to learn and grow; educational enhancement; and mentoring. View our Nurturing the Children application guidelines.

In 2004 — in honor of its 25th anniversary year — the Foundation initiated an Award Program for smaller nonprofit organizations based in New York City and Westchester County, New York. The 2007 Award recognizes innovative Nurturing the Children programs that fit our Safe Places to Learn and Grow category. Click here to find out more about our annual Award Program.
