NEW YORK, December 21, 2010 - New York Life Insurance Company announced today that James T. Bain has been promoted to senior vice president and head of the Application Development organization in the Corporate Information Department. He continues to report to Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer Eileen Slevin.
Mr. Bain is responsible for systems development supporting the entire U.S. Insurance Operations, including U.S. Life & Agency, Retirement Income Security, Individual Policy Services and Corporate Operations. Previously, Mr. Bain was first vice president overseeing system development for Corporate and Distribution systems. Prior to becoming first vice president, he held positions of increasing responsibility in the Controller's, Agency and Corporate Information Departments, where his collaborative efforts with the business areas resulted in the development of several of the company's proprietary systems, designed to enhance communication between agents and the company. Mr. Bain joined New York Life in 1976.
Mr. Bain holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from the University of Dayton, Ohio, and is a Fellow of the Life Management Institute since 1981. Mr. Bain currently resides in East Northport, NY, with his wife, Linda, and their two children.
