Company Serves as Game Day Sponsor as Undefeated Women Huskies Break All-Time Consecutive Win Streak
NEW YORK, NY, December 22, 2010 – New York Life Insurance Company executives celebrated a season-long sponsorship of the University of Connecticut's men's and women's basketball programs and sponsorship of last night's historic game where the UConn women defeated Florida State by a score of 93 to 62 at the XL Center to give the women Huskies 89 consecutive wins. UConn women now hold the all-time record for consecutive wins by a Division I college basketball team, breaking the 36-year old record held by the storied UCLA men's basketball team that notched 88 consecutive wins from 1971-74.
New York Life executives attended the historic game and celebrated by raffling UConn women's basketball memorabilia at halftime to UConn's loyal fans.
