Educational Matching Gifts

To promote and encourage individual giving, the Foundation matches gifts made by eligible New York Life agents, employees and retirees (and eligible subsidiaries) to qualified elementary, secondary and higher educational institutions. Contributions of individual donors are matched up to a maximum of $3,000 per application period. However Chairman's Council agents and the following senior level executives: Senior Vice President through Chairman of NYLIC; Executive Vice Presidents and Senior Managing Directors of NYLIM; and the Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer of New York Life International are matched up to $5,000 per application period. In 2009, 675 educational institutions received $973,902 through this program.
