New York Life Named A Best Place To Work By The Human Rights Campaign Foundation
New York Life Insurance Company has earned the top rating of 100 percent in the 2011 Corporate Equality Index (CEI), an annual survey administered by the Human Rights Campaign Foundation. New York Life joins the ranks of 337 other major U.S. businesses which get top marks for their treatment of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) employees and consumers. The CEI rated 618 businesses in total, evaluating LGBT-related policies and practices including non-discrimination policies, transgender health benefits and domestic partner benefits. New York Life’s efforts in ensuring LGBT equality in each of the survey’s main criterion earned it the prestigious 100 percent ranking.
New York Life Named One of America's Best Adoption-Friendly Workplaces by the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption
New York Life Insurance Company announced it moved up 81 positions to #19 in the nation and now ranks #1 in the insurance industry on the 2010 Best Adoption-Friendly Workplaces List released by the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption. New York Life was recognized for their Adoption Assistance program that provides paid leave and financial assistance to families adopting a child. The program currently offers up to $10,000 reimbursement of eligible adoption expenses as well as four weeks paid time off for the parent who is the primary caregiver and one week paid parental leave for the secondary caregiver.
New York Life Foundation Awards $150,000 to Support Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Questioning Youth in New York and New Jersey
The New York Life Foundation announced today grants totaling $150,000 to two organizations offering safe places to learn and grow and educational enhancement opportunities for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning (LGBTQ) young people. The Foundation made a $50,000 grant to the Lesbian and Gay Community Services Center and a grant of $100,000 to The Hetrick-Martin Institute (HMI) serving youth throughout New York City and Newark, New Jersey.
New York Life Foundation Grants $25,000 To Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual And Transgender Community Center
The Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Community Center announced that they received a $25,000 grant from the New York Life Foundation. The grant supports the Youth Enrichment Services (YES) community-building program that provides free after-school, Saturday activities and summer programs focusing on the healthy development of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning (LGBTQ) young people, ages 13-21, who live throughout the greater New York City metropolitan area.
