New York Life Company Sponsorships and Promotions

APRIL 2005
We attended the Harlem YMCA — Black Achievers in Industry awards ceremony, where Patty Favreau received the award from NYL.

We attended the Ebony Magazine Outstanding Women in Marketing and Communications Awards Luncheon in New York City.

New York Life Insurance co–sponsored events with local agents and managers to participate in the Palm Beach International Film Festival, American Diabetes Association Conference in Chicago, West Harlem Environmental Action Committee, and the Caribbean American Chamber of Commerce in New York City.

MAY 2005
We sponsored the Black Enterprise Entrepreneurs Conference, Dallas, Texas, where eight agents and one partner from the Dallas and Ft. Worth general offices attended the 2–day business–to–business sessions. This was an effort to pursue leads for recruiting and sales. Over 80 requests for additional information were received.

We sponsored the Studio Museum in Harlem — Spring Fundraising Benefit, in which four agents from the Greater New York general office were able to network and gather leads for sales.

JUNE 2005
We sponsored the 100 Black Men of America National Conference in New Orleans, LA. Four agents from the New Orleans general office attended the 3–day informational and networking sessions to pursue leads for recruiting and sales. A meeting was also hosted with seven agents from the New Orleans general office and four agents from the Baton Rouge general office for discussions on local marketing opportunities and strategies to drive sales.

We sponsored the Rainbow/PUSH National Conference in Chicago, IL. Nine agents from the Greater Chicago, Illinois, Detroit attended the minister's empowerment and One Thousand Churches Connected event. An agent from the Los Angeles general office participated on a panel to provide for wealth building strategies for women.

We conducted five seminars across Florida in conjunction with the National Black Chamber of Commerce and their local chamber partners. Topics of the seminars included key–man insurance and executive benefits, and retirement and succession planning.

JULY 2005
We sponsored the National Black Chamber of Commerce Conference in Miami, FL. Agents and a manager from the South Florida general office attended the 3–day informational and networking sessions to pursue leads for recruiting and sales. An agent also conducted a Wealth Building seminar that covered key–man insurance, executive benefits, retirement and succession planning.

We sponsored the National Urban League Conference in Washington, DC. Recruiters and agents from the Greater Washington and Northern Virginia general office attended the employment fair and corporate exhibition event over the three-day period to pursue recruiting and sales opportunities.

We attended an American Legacy Magazine Awards ceremony, where NYL was a corporate sponsor. Agents and Home Office representatives networked and were acknowledged for our continued sponsorship.

We sponsored the 2nd annual Essence Magazine - Women Who are Shaping the World summit in NYC. We hosted a booth, sponsored a breakout session, and placed an ad in the program guide. Two agents, a recruiter and two Home Office representatives attended. 87 sales lead cards were completed from the 450 attendees (20%). We also conducted four initial interviews with licensed individuals for sales positions at New York Life Insurance.

We attended the Executive Leadership Council Fall Meeting and the NextGen Network conference in Washington DC (NYL was a platinum sponsor of the latter event). Twenty–three Home Office staff attended different portions of the three affairs, which included a mid–level manager symposium, educational agenda and annual awards dinner. Sy Sternberg attended the CEO meeting on diversity.
