New York Life College Recruiting/College Agent Intern Program
From the time I was 18-years-old, I knew I wanted to work for New York Life Insurance Company at its headquarters on Madison Avenue. New York Life has been a huge part of my life since grade school, when my father left a successful career as a college baseball coach to join the Company as a member of the Arizona sales force. The first time I interviewed for a job with New York Life was in 1991, shortly after I graduated from Iona College in New Rochelle, New York. But I didn’t join the Company until eight years later.
When my father retired at age 54 due to physical disabilities, I left a successful career on Wall Street and returned to my hometown in Arizona to assume responsibility for his New York Life business. It’s a decision I’ve never regretted.
After five years as a successful agent, my career with New York Life took a different direction. Nearly 13 years after my very first interview, and moves from coast to coast and back, my dream came true and I was offered a position at the Company’s headquarters in New York City.
The winding path my career has taken certainly wasn’t planned. The road map I created for my life during college and graduate school never included a move back to my hometown in Arizona. However, without my experience as a New York Life agent, the opportunities available to me now would not exist.
