Volunteer Grant Programs
The New York Life Foundation offers three grant programs that support New York Life agents’, employees’ and retirees’ volunteer involvement with nonprofit charitable agencies in their communities:
For Individual Volunteer Service:
Volunteers for Life - Competitive Grants Program
This program annually awards up to 40 $5,000 grants to the most compelling children-related projects that support the Foundation’s Nurturing the Children initiative.
Application period: April 1 – May 15
Volunteers for Life – Individual Grant Program
This program provides grants to broad range of local agencies from $500 up to $1000.
Application period: February 1 – November 15
For Group Volunteer Service:
Volunteers for Life – Team Grant Program
The TeamGrant Program supports short-term or single-event team projects that involve a minimum of five New York Life agents, employees and retirees and a total of forty hours of volunteer service. Grants range from $500 to $2,500.
Application period: February 1 – November 15

Educational Matching Gift Program
New York Life Foundation Educational Matching Gift Program promotes and encourages individual giving to educational institutions. The Foundation matches gifts made by eligible individuals.
Application forms received by the Foundation by December 31 will be included in the donor’s 2009 cap. Gifts are matched quarterly. Forms completed and received by December 1, if approved, will be paid at the beginning of January. Forms are available on the Foundation’s Web site at http://www.newyorklifefoundation.org/programs.
