BALANCING ACT: AT NEW YORK LIFE, YOU CAN HAVE IT ALL
Robin Wahby is a successful businesswoman, mother, wife, philanthropist, and friend and makes it look effortless. The key: working for a company that frees her to balance all life throws her way.
For more than seventeen years, Robin has enjoyed a successful and exciting career at New York Life Insurance Company. She was given the opportunity to join the Company’s management team after spending two years as an agent. Her hard work and leadership skills have paid off. She now leads a sales force of more than 75 agents, 3 managers and support staff at the Jacksonville, Florida General Office.
“New York Life gave me the training and support I needed to take my career to the next level and realize my dreams of success. Every day I’m able to challenge myself in new ways,” says Robin. “The Company truly cares about employees reaching their full potential, while at the same time realizes we have other priorities in our lives.”
TIME FOR HERSELF AND HER COMMUNITY
For Robin, that means time to spend with family — husband, Dan and five year old daughter Olivia — and her work within the community. Along with several colleagues, Wahby joined The Women’s Giving Alliance (WGA). A non-profit organization, The WGA contributes to over 20 organizations in the Jacksonville area including programs that teach girls and women to empower themselves through counseling, literacy and education.
Additionally, Robin is an advisory board member of the Jacksonville Women’s Business Center — a group that provides mentoring and resources to area businesses. She also sits on the Board of her local chapter of NAIFA (National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors).
“Robin is a leader,” says Wahby’s assistant, Diana Bibbee. “Her reputation is one of the reasons I came to work for New York Life. She can walk into a room and connect with anyone, analyze any situation — still, she finds the time to be so involved in the community.”
ACHIEVING SUCCESS WITH THE COMPANY YOU KEEP®
Realizing your goals is made easy at New York Life: for more than 160 years its agents have had the backing of a strong brand and a reputation for excellence and innovation.
“The products and services we offer our clients are very competitive in today’s market, and New York Life is constantly striving to develop new products. It’s a must — our clients’ needs are changing all of the time,” adds Robin.
In addition to having products that meet consumers’ needs, New York Life agents are recognized as top professionals in the industry. New York Life Insurance Company has dominated the Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT) in the United States for the fifty-third consecutive year with 2,453 New York Life agents, the highest number ever for an MDRT leader. Membership in this organization is a distinguishing life insurance career milestone, attained by less than 1 percent of the world’s financial services professionals who have demonstrated superior professional knowledge, experience and client service. In addition, New York Life has more women MDRT members than any other U.S. company with an increase of 15 percent this year, representing 26 percent of all women MDRT members.
Wahby’s career offers a balance that allows her to be successful at home and at work. New York Life is recognized as a best place to work by various outlets including:
In March of 2006, the Company earned a spot on the National Association for Female Executives “Top 30 Companies for Female Executives” list.
Named one of the “50 Best Companies for Latinas to Work for in the U.S.” by LATINA style magazine for seven consecutive years.
Named one of the “Best Companies for African Americans™” by Family Digest® magazine for five consecutive years.
Wahby offers in conclusion, “your career should allow you to achieve balance and success. At New York Life it is possible to have it all.”
