New York Life International Annouces Executive Appointments In Information Technology, Compliance And Marketing Departments

NEW YORK, N.Y., February 23, 2009 – New York Life International (NYLI) today announced Thomas Burke has been appointed Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer; Annette Donselaar has been appointed Senior Vice President and Chief Compliance Officer; and Shauna Collingwood has been appointed Senior Vice President of Global Marketing and Product Center of Excellence.

Mr. Burke is responsible for the development and implementation of NYLI’s information technology program across all markets, including the strategic and tactical planning, development, evaluation and coordination of all information and technology systems. He will report to Russell Bundschuh, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, New York Life International.

Prior to joining New York Life International, Mr. Burke served as Head of Operations and Technology at Citi Global Consumer Investments where he coordinated and implemented operational and technology solutions across 46 countries. Additionally, Mr. Burke was Head of Offshore Business Development, where he established an operational framework for conducting business across all the regional offshore businesses within the International Retail Bank. Before that, he held other positions at Citigroup including Head of Investment and Insurance Technology and Vice President Operations and Technology.

Mr. Burke received a B.A. in Computer Science from Fordham University and an M.B.A. from St. John’s University, both in New York. Mr. Burke will be based in New York Life International’s New York headquarters.

Ms. Donselaar is responsible for overseeing all aspects of NYLI’s compliance function, including developing NYLI’s compliance strategy, setting the tone and direction for the global compliance program, coordinating the activities of individual market compliance programs and providing guidance on compliance issues to NYLI’s Senior Leadership Team and Country Heads. Also reporting to Mr. Bundschuh, she will work closely with the local market compliance teams to ensure compliance with regulations and policies. All country Chief Compliance Officers will have dotted-line reporting relationships with Annette.

Prior to joining New York Life International, Ms. Donselaar was Vice President and Chief Compliance Officer at AIA Corporation in Hong Kong where she oversaw and managed compliance for the company’s 16 entities in Asia (Life Operations). Before that, she served as General Manager of Regulatory Compliance at National Australia Bank and held positions of increasing responsibility in compliance at Westpac Banking Corporation, the Australian Securities and Investments Commission and IOOF Australia Group. Ms. Donselaar began her career as an Officer in the Royal Australian Air Force.

Ms. Donselaar received a B.A. from Adelaide University in Adelaide, South Australia and her B. Comm, Bachelor of Law (Hons), Master of Commercial Law and Master of Law from Deakin University in Melbourne, Australia. Ms. Donselaar will also be based in New York Life International’s New York headquarters.

Ms. Collingwood is responsible for overseeing NYLI’s global product strategy, including the product management practices across the organization. In her new role, she will also focus on the development of marketing programs aimed at increasing sales with existing customers through lead generation and other cross-sale programs. Ms. Collingwood will report to Bill Beaty, Vice Chairman of New York Life International.

Prior to joining New York Life International, Ms. Collingwood worked with Prudential UK, in Hong Kong, leading a team of strategic marketing, research and change managers providing advice and customer services to 16 retail businesses across Asia. Before that, Ms. Collingwood held senior executive roles in product management and operations with Insurance Australia Group. Also, she was responsible for managing the Sales and Service Operations of general and life insurance business through a national branch network, call centers, regional agencies and the Internet.

Ms. Collingwood received a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Queensland in Australia and an M.B.A. in from the University of Technology in Sydney, Australia. Ms. Collingwood will be based in New York Life International’s Hong Kong offices.
