NEW YORK, N.Y., March 31, 2009 – New York Life Insurance Company today announced that Frances Arricale has joined the company as Vice President for International Governmental Affairs. She is based in New York Life’s Washington, D.C. Office of Governmental Affairs, which is led by Senior Vice President George Nichols III. Ms. Arricale is responsible for representing New York Life in the Washington policy-making community and with foreign government representatives.
Ms. Arricale joins New York Life after most recently serving as the first Executive Director of the Interstate Insurance Product Regulation Commission in Washington, D.C., where she managed the operational start-up for the new Interstate Insurance Compact. Prior to that, she was General Counsel for the New York City Commission to the United Nations, Consular Corp and Protocol in the Office of the Mayor, advising on international legal matters and serving as liaison with the resident diplomatic community. This is a return to New York Life for Ms. Arricale, as she began her career with the Company working as a government affairs attorney on state regulatory matters and international issues, including trade policy.
Ms. Arricale earned her B.A. in Political Science from Fordham University, and J.D. from Brooklyn Law School. She is a member of the New York, California and District of Columbia attorney bars.
Ms. Arricale succeeds Leslie Griffin who, earlier this year, joined New York Life International as chief of staff to International’s CEO Dick Mucci.
