New York Life Costs of Long-Term Care Survey

The 2014 New York Life Cost of Long-Term Care Services Report provides an overview of the average cost providers charge for various levels of long-term care services in a given region. Assisted Living Facilities, Skilled Nursing Facilities and Home Health Care Providers across the country were surveyed to determine the average cost of care by collecting a sample of providers that best represent each region.

2014 Long-Term Care Services National Averages:

Skilled Nursing Facilities
Average daily cost for a private room: $262.21
Average annual cost for a private room: $95,707
Average daily cost for a semi-private room: $227.71
Average annual cost for a semi-private room: $83,114

Assisted Living Facilities
Average monthly cost for a studio unit: $3,572
Average monthly cost for a 1-bedroom unit: $4,139
Average monthly cost for a 2-bedroom unit: $4,474

Home Health Providers
Home Health Aide average hourly rate: $21.86
Registered Nurse average hourly rate: $66.04
Licensed Practical Nurse: $51.47
