The 2018 Cost of Care Survey was designed and implemented by Long‐Term Care Group (LTCG), the nation’s leader in long‐term care administration services. Each year LTCG surveys thousands of Skilled Nursing Home, Home Health Care and Assisted Living Facility providers to collect cost of care data. The cost of care averages are calculated from over 30,000 different providers at the national, state and metropolitan statistical area level.

About Skilled Nursing Homes
Skilled Nursing Homes provide residents with a place where they can receive continuous nursing care and support. LTCG surveyed 7,000 Skilled Nursing Homes for their rates for both Private and Semi‐Private Rooms.** Most nursing homes report rates that are all‐inclusive, meaning that personal care, memory care and other services are offered, in addition to room and board already captured in the daily room rates.

About Home Health Care
Home Health Care providers employ or contract with various aides to deliver care and services that range from assistance with bathing, dressing and transferring, as well as providing assistance with more serious medical issues. LTCG surveyed 12,000 Home Health Care providers to capture their per visit or hourly rates for Home Health Aide, Registered Nurse and Licensed Practical Nurse services.**

About Assisted Living Facilities
Assisted Living Facilities are housing facilities that provide supervision or assistance with activities of daily living, coordination of services by outside home care providers and also monitor resident activities to ensure their health, safety and well‐being. LTCG surveyed 12,600 Assisted Living Facilities to capture their rates for 1 Bedroom, 2 Bedroom and Studio apartments.** Unlike nursing homes, Assisted Living Facilities have more complex pricing schedules based on the size and type of the living unit, as well as the amount and type of care services provided.
