At New York Life, we believe in the power of community. Our financial professionals and employees dedicate their time and resources to give back in a way that builds lasting change.
Volunteers for good
At New York Life, we feature a number of company-wide volunteer initiatives including a dedicated Month of Service in September and a range of activities during the holiday season. We also provide employees with paid time off each year to volunteer at a school or charity that is personally meaningful to them.
Acts of Kindness
In response to COVID-19, New York Life launched an Acts of Kindness—Civic Engagement program to encourage our workforce to help their neighbors and encourage civic engagement. With every hour logged, a $17.50 Cause Card is awarded to give to a charity of their choice.
New York Life Emergency Assistance Fund
We established The New York Life Emergency Assistance Fund to provide emergency financial assistance to its employees and financial professionals who incurred unexpected expenses as a result of a catastrophic disaster. Over the past few years, the fund has provided support in response to federal, state, and local government-declared disasters including floods, hurricanes, tornadoes, and wildfires, and COVID-19.

Charitable Giving
New York Life facilitates employees’ charitable giving to most US-based nonprofit organizations by offering payroll and ledger deduction services and sending their donations directly to the charities of their choice, and matches employee gifts to charities whose missions fall into our focus areas.
Workplace Grants
We seek to extend our mission of care and guidance through company-wide philanthropic activity, volunteer programs, fundraising campaigns, team grant opportunities, and more.

New York Life Family Scholarships for Employees’ and Agents’ Children
The Foundation encourages education for all families, including our own. We offer two different scholarships for the college-bound children of our eligible workforce: The National Merit Scholarship (awarded based on PSAT scores) and the Scholarship America Scholarship (awarded on an application basis).
