  • Term insurance vs.
    whole life insurance?

    Term Life Insurance

Term life insurance is an affordable starting point. For example, with New York Life's Level Premium Convertible Term Policy, premiums are guaranteed to remain level for the initial term of the policy. After the level premium paying period, premiums will increase annually. At a future date, you will have the option to convert your term policy to Whole Life Insurance policy.

Get started with a term life insurance quote right away.1

    Whole Life Insurance

Provides protection for your beneficiaries throughout your entire life, as long as you pay the premiums when due. Whole life insurance provides "living benefits" through access to the cash value that accumulates in your policy via loans2, which is eligible to receive dividends.3 Its premiums also remain level for the life of the policy.

For more on whole, or to learn about other insurance products, talk with an agent.

2Policy loans accrue interest and reduce death benefit and cash value.

3Dividends are based on the policy's applicable dividend scale, which is not guaranteed.

1 In Oregon, the Level Premium Convertible Term policy form # is 210-60.27 and is issued by New York Life Insurance Company and guarantees a level premium for the initial term of the policy. After the level premium paying period, premiums will increase annually; proceeds are payable upon death of the insured. This policy has exclusion and limitations. For costs and complete details of coverage, please contact your insurance agent or New York Life. Any initial term between 10 to 20 years can be selected. Initial term quotes provided are based on user input and assumptions. Since this product is underwritten, premium may vary from what is shown here. Paying premiums on a basis more frequently than annually (monthly, quarterly, semi-annually, NYL-A-PLAN or by Check-O-Matic) results in paying a greater total premium during one year's time. The cost of paying annualized payments will be more than the cost of paying one annual premium.
