Kevin C. Bolash
Director

Mr. Bolash is a Madison Capital Portfolio Manager focusing on restructurings and time-intensive investments. Prior to managing restructurings, Mr. Bolash managed one of Madison Capital’s underwriting teams. Before joining Madison Capital in 2004, he worked in the Restructuring Advisory Practice of Ernst & Young Corporate Finance, LLC providing strategic advisory services to companies operating in distressed environments, under Chapter 11 protection, or undergoing significant operational restructurings. Mr. Bolash is a graduate of Washington University in St. Louis where he earned a B.S. in Finance and Management.


Clayton Bruce
Director

Mr. Bruce is a member of one of Madison’s underwriting teams, focusing on structuring, underwriting, negotiating, and closing both Madison-led and participation leveraged finance transactions. Prior to joining the firm in 2015, Mr. Bruce’s professional experience included twelve years of senior and subordinated debt investing at Fifth Third Bank. Most recently, Mr. Bruce led Fifth Third’s Sponsor Leveraged Finance team, where he originated, underwrote, and monitored senior debt investments to middle market companies. Mr. Bruce earned a BBA in Finance from the University of Iowa, an MBA in Managerial Finance from DePaul University, and an MS in Accountancy from DePaul University. In addition, Mr. Bruce is a CFA charterholder.


Robert S. Douglass
Director

Mr. Douglass runs of one of Madison Capital’s underwriting teams, focusing on originating, structuring, underwriting, negotiating and closing both Madison-led transactions and participation transactions. Prior to joining the firm in 2004, he worked in the Assurance and Advisory Business Services practice of Ernst & Young LLP, providing audit and advisory services to manufacturing, real estate, and consumer products companies. Mr. Douglass earned a BBA in Finance and a Master in Professional Accounting from the University of Texas at Austin and is a registered Certified Public Accountant (CPA).


Craig Dugan
Vice President

Mr. Dugan is a member of one of Madison Capital’s underwriting teams, focusing on structuring, underwriting, negotiating and closing both Madison-led transactions and participation transactions. Prior to joining the firm in 2013, he worked in an underwriting and portfolio management capacity for Crestline Denali Capital, L.P., a manager of senior secured loans. Mr. Dugan earned a B.S. in Finance from Michigan State University and an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. Mr. Dugan is a CFA charterholder.


A. Brady Hahn
Vice President

Mr. Hahn runs one of Madison Capital’s underwriting teams focusing on structuring, underwriting, negotiating and closing both Madison-led and participation leveraged finance transactions. Prior to Madison Capital, he worked at Corridor Capital, focusing on control equity investments in the lower middle market. Mr. Hahn earned a B.S. in Finance and a B.S. in International Business from Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business.


Erin Istvan
Vice President

Ms. Istvan is a member of one of Madison’s underwriting teams, focusing on structuring, underwriting, negotiating and closing transactions. Prior to joining the firm in 2014, she focused on merger and acquisition advisory services at Lincoln International. Previously, Ms. Istvan worked in loan restructuring and corporate development roles at Wachovia Corp. (now Wells Fargo & Company). Ms. Istvan earned a BS in mathematical economics from Wake Forest University and an MBA from Harvard Business School. She also holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.


David Kelly
Vice President

Mr. Kelly is a member of one of Madison Capital’s underwriting teams, focusing on structuring, underwriting, negotiating and closing both Madison-led transactions and participation transactions. Prior to joining the firm in 2015, he worked in various underwriting, portfolio management, and relationship management roles in the Sponsor Leveraged Finance group at Fifth Third Bank. Mr. Kelly began his career in the Audit and Enterprise Risk Services practice at Deloitte. Mr. Kelly earned a BS in Accountancy from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and his MBA in Management & Strategy and Analytical Finance from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. Mr. Kelly is a CPA (inactive).


Michael E. Nativi
Director

Mr. Nativi heads one of Madison’s underwriting teams, focusing on structuring, underwriting, negotiating, and managing both Madison-led transactions and participation transactions. Prior to joining the firm in 2006, he was an Associate at Houlihan Lokey, an international investment bank that advises both middle market and large public and private companies. He also worked as a member of the valuation services group at Deloitte. Mr. Nativi earned a B.S. in Finance from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.


James C. Powell
Managing Director

Mr. Powell is Madison Capital’s Special Assets Group Manager focusing on restructurings and time-intensive investments. Prior to joining the firm, he was a Managing Director at Banc of America Securities LLC, a private debt-placement group and an Executive Vice President and principal at Allied Capital Corp., where he was responsible for that firm’s co-investment activity and several mezzanine debt transactions. Mr. Powell was also a Bank Examiner with the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, U.S. Treasury Department. Mr. Powell earned a degree in Business Administration from the University of Notre Dame, and received an MBA from the University of Michigan.


Lynn M. Rehn
Vice President

Ms. Rehn runs one of Madison’s underwriting teams, focusing on structuring, underwriting, negotiating and closing both Madison-led and participation leveraged finance transactions. Prior to joining Madison Capital in 2012, she spent seven years at JP Morgan in both the Chicago and New York offices. At JP Morgan, Ms. Rehn held various underwriting and relationship management roles in the commercial bank. She also spent two years in Chase Capital, which invested mezzanine and equity capital in middle market businesses. Ms. Rehn earned a BA in Economics from the University of Chicago.


Timothy R. Schifer
Director

Mr. Schifer joined Madison Capital in January 2003 and has held a variety of roles during that time, including leading one of Madison’s underwriting deal teams, business origination and development, and sponsor client relationship. He currently serves as Madison’s senior portfolio manager with primary focus on Madison’s loan portfolio. Prior to joining Madison Capital, Mr. Schifer’s professional experience includes over fourteen years of corporate lending including significant experience in financing middle market, private equity sponsored transactions at the leveraged finance units of Mercantile Bank (now U.S. Bank) and LaSalle Bank (now Bank of America). He is also a former U.S. Air Force Captain. Mr. Schifer received his BS degree from the U.S. Air Force Academy and an MBA from the University of Wyoming.


Junaid Sozer
Vice President

Mr. Sozer runs one of Madison’s underwriting teams, focusing on structuring, underwriting, negotiating and closing both Madison-led and participation leveraged finance transactions. Prior to Madison Capital, his experience includes six years of sponsor-backed leveraged finance, direct lending and private equity investing at various firms. Mr. Sozer graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2008 with a B.S. in Finance.


Kathryn Wieland
Vice President

Ms. Wieland is a member of one of Madison’s underwriting teams, focusing on structuring, underwriting, negotiating and closing both Madison-led and participation leveraged finance transactions. Prior to joining Madison Capital in 2011, she was an investment analyst at Grosvenor Capital Management, L.P., an alternative asset management firm based in Chicago. Ms. Wieland earned a BBA in Finance from the University of Notre Dame and is a CFA holder.
