New York Life named one of 25 “Best Companies for Multicultural Women” by Working Mother.

NEW YORK, May 26, 2015—New York Life has been named one of 2015’s “Best Companies for Multicultural Women” by Working Mother magazine, an honor that recognizes the 25 U.S. corporations that create and use best practices to make sure women of color employees advance and excel. This is the fifth consecutive year that New York Life has been named to this prestigious list.

“We encourage our employees to be their authentic selves every day because diversity of thought, opinion, background, and experiences contributes to the success of the company. A diverse and inclusive business environment drives innovation and consumer engagement,” said Kathleen Navarro, vice president and chief diversity officer of New York Life. “We are proud to once again be recognized by Working Mother for our commitment to multicultural women.”

Subha V. Barry, vice president, general manager, Working Mother Media, said, “The Best Companies for Multicultural Women know that diversity at all ranks of an organization is a business imperative, and they’re doing the hard work—fostering pipelines of talent, nurturing careers of people of color, and providing access to advancement programs—to ensure that all employees know they are valued.”

Working Mother’s “Best Companies for Multicultural Women” were selected based on representation; hiring, attrition and promotion rates; recruitment, retention and advancement programs; and company culture.
