Each year, LOMA (the Life Office Management Association)–one of the largest international trade associations for the insurance and financial services industry–recognizes the educational achievements of its member-companies. The organization specifically awards those members who have the highest levels of employee engagement in its educational programs.
New York Life has been recognized for this award continuously since 1994 and was again in 2019. In recognition of this milestone, LOMA awarded the company a special 25-year Educational Achievement Award, making us the only company to receive this award.
“The importance of the ongoing growth and development of our employees is deeply embedded in our culture. Our partnership with LOMA over the last quarter-century is an important part of that commitment to growth.” - Michael Molinaro, Chief Learning Officer at New York Life.
“We are pleased to recognize New York Life Insurance Company for their milestone achievement,” says LOMA Senior Vice President Jeff Hasty. “We applaud New York Life’s commitment to Learning and Development and know that your employees and organization are stronger because of the learning culture that you support.”
“This is an incredible honor for New York Life,” says Michael Molinaro, Chief Learning Officer at New York Life. “The importance of the ongoing growth and development of our employees is deeply embedded in our culture. Our partnership with LOMA over the last quarter-century is an important part of that commitment to growth.”
“Having had the privilege to represent New York Life, in partnership with LOMA, for several years, I’ve had the opportunity to witness the positive impact that the access to continuing education has had on our employees,” notes Claudine Jessamy of Corporate Finance, who serves as the LOMA representative for New York Life.
“Our partnership with LOMA demonstrates the company's commitment to invest not only in the development of its employees, but also to ensure that the products we develop and offer to the public provide consistent quality and value,” continues Jessamy. “It is, therefore, no coincidence that LOMA has recognized New York Life with this prestigious achievement award.”
LOMA's Education Program is designed to enhance employees' knowledge of the life, health, and financial services industries. Full-time and benefit-eligible part-time employees are eligible for this program.
“When I first started my career, LOMA courses were instrumental in helping me develop a knowledge base about the insurance industry and its products, says Aaron Strassburger from Operational Risk Management. “Now, through my role as a course reviewer, I’m able to assist the next generation of new hires in developing their industry knowledge base."
New York Life’s commitment to LOMA and its programs–and employee development more generally––helps us deliver on the company’s purpose.
“Our core purpose as a company is to be there when our policy owners need us,” says EVP and Co-Chief Operating Officer Craig DeSanto, who previously served as a board member and director of LL Global, the parent company of LOMA and LIMRA. “Providing employees with insights and education into our industry helps New York Life make informed decisions that benefit our policy owners, agents, and employees. Thank you to LOMA for the recognition, and to all employees who are engaged in LOMA’s learning opportunities.”
