For the third year in a row, New York Life was once again an official sponsor of the NYC Disability Pride Parade. The event celebrates the accomplishments of those living with disabilities and serves to redefine public perception of disability. Our team of marchers included members of ENABLE, our Employee Resource Group dedicated to raising the level of disability-focused awareness at New York Life among all employees. The march began near our Home office in Madison Square Park, then travelled down Broadway culminating in a festive celebration in Union Square.
"What a great turnout! Very inspiring to march with my New York Life colleagues in the parade. Great work by all who helped make this happen. "
Pedram Afshar, Senior Vice President, Head of Service
This year’s march had the theme of “Creativity” and organizers encouraged everyone to “decorate clothes, hats, wheelchairs, hair, faces, floats, make puppets, wear costumes,—use your imagination—have fun!” By the looks of the smiling faces in all of these photo’s all of our employees and their loved ones followed orders and had fun in honor of this important cause.
"It was a beautiful day spent with colleagues and family, and I was proud to represent New York Life and support our ENABLE community!"
- Karla M. Hourihan, Senior Associate
We’re proud of everyone who participated and carried on our longstanding commitment to recognizing the disabled community as a valued part of our workforce family at New York Life.
