John Fleurant is Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of New York Life Insurance Company overseeing: Actuarial; Risk; Financial Planning; Controllership; Tax; Treasury; and Corporate Services activities. In September 2012, he was elected Senior Vice President, Finance, Deputy Chief Financial Officer and Controller. He was appointed to New York Life's Executive Management Committee in March 2013.
Mr. Fleurant joined New York Life in 2010 as Senior Vice President, Finance and Controller responsible for Financial Planning; Controllership; Tax and the Treasury activities.
From 1995 to 2010, Mr. Fleurant worked at Prudential Financial where he served as Controller and was responsible for SEC and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance, and company-wide financial planning and reporting. From 2004-2009, Mr. Fleurant held multiple financial leadership positions in Prudential Financial's asset management, retirement, individual and group life insurance, and annuities businesses, culminating in being named the Chief Financial Officer for Domestic Businesses in 2007. Before joining Prudential, Mr. Fleurant spent 9 years with Deloitte and Touche LLP, where he became a Senior Manager and provided accounting, audit, and special services to both domestic and international companies.
Mr. Fleurant earned a B.S. in Business Administration majoring in Accounting from Widener University, and passed the Certified Public Accountant exam in the state of Pennsylvania.
