Matthew Grove is Executive Vice President, Insurance and Agency Group of New York Life, responsible for oversight of marketing, service, underwriting, technology, data science and strategy, as well as life insurance product development and inforce management. He was appointed to New York Life's Executive Management Committee in January 2017.
Mr. Grove joined New York Life in 2009 and has held positions of increasing responsibilities. Prior to his current role, Mr. Grove was Chief Administrative Officer of the Insurance and Agency Group, responsible for strategy, advanced analytics, internal consulting, new business, underwriting, and various other functions. Earlier in his career, he led New York Life's Retail Annuities business and was accountable for all aspects of the annuity business P&L, including product, service and technology, marketing, and distribution.
Prior to joining New York Life, Mr. Grove was the Chief Marketing Officer of Jefferson National, an insurance company focused on serving the needs of the Registered Investment Advisor (RIA) market. Before Jefferson National, he was the President and Founder of Diginexus, a technology consulting firm focused on building enterprise software for financial services firms. Mr. Grove began his career as an investment banker at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette.
Mr. Grove earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania, where he graduated summa cum laude, and an M.B.A. from Columbia University.
