The National Business Inclusion Consortium (NBIC) has named New York Life to the fifth annual cohort of Best-of-the-Best list of corporations in America committed to diversity and inclusion across all communities for 2021.
New York Life was just named to the 2020 Diversity Best Practices Inclusion Index, highlights organizations that are creating workplaces where people are free to be themselves. Now in its fourth year, the Inclusion Index provides information to help organizations understand gaps in demographic representation, and is a strategic road map to drive internal change to find and implement D&I solutions.
We were recently named the 2019 Company of the Year by LATINA Style Inc. LATINA Style commended us on our focus on serving the financial security needs of individuals and families in the Latino and other diverse communities across our country. Companies are evaluated on a number of criteria including the number of Latina executives, Latina retention, mentoring programs, educational opportunities, employee benefits, job retraining, affinity groups, and Hispanic relations.
We were honored to be named to the 2019 National Business Inclusion Consortium’s (NBIC's) Best-of-the-Best list of corporations in America committed to diversity and inclusion across all community sectors. Only companies achieving industry-leading results across all diverse segments are eligible to receive the prestigious Best-of-the-Best designation from the NBIC, a coalition of national diverse business organizations spearheaded by the National Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce.
We received a perfect score of 100% on the 2021 Corporate Equality Index, a national benchmarking survey and report on corporate policies and practices related to LGBT workplace equality, administered by the Human Rights Campaign Foundation.
New York Life was honored to be among the first companies named to Forbes new listing of the Best Employers for Women. Forbes partnered with market research company Statista to identify the companies doing a top notch job of supporting their female workforce. The final list ranks the 300 employers that both received the most recommendations and boast the most gender diverse boards and executive ranks. New York Life ranked #160 on the prestigious list, ranking higher than other companies including JPMorgan Chase (#192), Microsoft (#212) and Visa (#289).
We were selected by OMNIKAL as one of "America’s Top 50 Organizations for Inclusive Majority Business Opportunities” for 2020. We received the award based on inclusion throughout the nation's business community. More than 2,100,000 million businesses participated in an online election to determine the Omni50 Award winners for their efforts in the global market place, at a time when inclusion has been imperative for economic prosperity and future ethical, social and cultural success. The Omni50 Award winner list is an indicator of which organizations provide the best and the most business awarded to Inclusive Majority Owned companies. This, in turn, attracts more corporations, as they compete for market share in multicultural communities and an increasingly varied global and national population.
We were named one of the 2020 “Working Mother 100 Best Companies” for our outstanding leadership in creating progressive programs for our work force in the areas of advancement of women, flexibility, child care and paid parental leave.
We're honored to be named one of the “Top Companies for Executive Women” by the National Association for Female Executives (NAFE), which recognizes American corporations where women have significant power to make the decisions that affect their company’s future and its bottom line. We were recognized as an organization that is committed to hiring, retaining, and promoting executive women. In addition to assessing corporate programs and policies dedicated to advancing women, NAFE measured results examining the number of women at the highest ranks and those with profit and loss responsibilities.

Our company earned a top 10 placement on Profiles in Diversity Journal’s 2017 Diversity Leader Award. The award is given to companies that are advancing the evolution of diversity and inclusion. We were recognized for our Diversity Awareness Month #InclusionMatters Challenge. This month-long competition brought together 113 teams of employees to complete tasks focused on the importance of inclusion and recognizing and mitigating unconscious bias.
