New York Life Foundation President Heather Nesle was recently a featured guest on the Purpose360 podcast, which focuses on unlocking the potential of purpose to ignite business and social impact. On the episode, Heather expresses the importance of financial equity: “When we look at what New York Life offers to people through our products and services – financial security, protection, and peace of mind – we want everyone to have access to those things.”

Over the course of the conversation, topics discussed by Heather include:

  • How the Foundation extends the focus of New York Life.
  • Having a discrete additional funding stream for social justice allows the Foundation to have more flexibility outside of the two historical focus areas of childhood bereavement and educational enhancement.
  • Under the Foundation’s social justice pillar, generational wealth, family history/genealogy, the history of BIPOC individuals and women that have made this country what it is today, and building capacity for BIPOC leaders will be areas of focus.
