New York Life earned the highest score in its category from Newsweek’s inaugural “America’s Best Customer Service” list. New York Life tied for first place in the Life Insurance category based on a survey of more than 20,000 adults.

“Our company’s core purpose of being there when our policy owners need us is something that we have upheld, Agency and Service colleagues together, going back more than a century,” said Head of Service, Pedram Afshar. “This acknowledgement celebrates all we’ve accomplished together as one New York Life and serves as further reinforcement of our long-standing tradition to put our clients, and those serving them, at the center of everything that we do.”

The survey, developed by Newsweek and global research firm Statista, asked participants to review companies that they either considered or purchased from in the last three years. Customers were asked to rank the quality of communication, technical competence, range of services, customer focus, and accessibility. It also asked customers about their likelihood to recommend the company’s products or services to others.

Each category was comprised of 15-20 companies, and the three brands with the highest scores in each category were highlighted and awarded “America’s Best Customer Service 2019.”
