Our logo on the hardwood, augmented reality hoops, a legendary women’s coach turned New York Life agent—oh, and some serious basketball. It must be time for the March college basketball tournaments!
As the title sponsor of the 2020 men’s Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) tournament and the presenting sponsor of the 2020 Pacific-12 (Pac-12) women’s and men’s tournaments, you can be sure our new “Love takes action” brand campaign and messaging will be featured throughout the games. Once again, we’re going beyond just being a part of the basketball excitement to do something more significant—help kids.
We are donating to Boys & Girls Clubs of America, but with a twist—fans determine how much money their teams’ local Boys & Girls Clubs receive by playing an augmented reality basketball game called New York Life Donation Dash. It’s available online or as a downloadable app. Players select their school team (either from the ACC or the Pac-12) and play for that team. New York Life will donate to the local Boys & Girls Club associated with that school’s community. All schools’ Boys & Girls Clubs will receive a donation, but the club associated with the school with the highest score from each conference will receive a larger donation. You can get in on the action, too, by playing between now and March 14.

Coach turned agent
To top things off, Joan Bonvicini, an agent from our Tucson (Arizona) General Office, was featured in an on-air interview during the women’s Pac-12 tournament. She discussed the tournament, New York Life’s partnership, her job as an agent since 2018, and her legacy as one of the winningest coaches in women’s college basketball history. Bonvicini is the former head coach of the Seattle University women’s basketball team, the Redhawks, and one of only 18 coaches in Division I women’s basketball history with 600 career victories.
The games will be aired on the Pac-12 Network and FS1 for the west coast teams, and ESPN2 and ESPNU for the ACC teams. You can download the Pac-12 Now app for iOS or Android, or visit Pac-12.com/live today to access all Pac-12 Network content. If your television provider supports TV Everywhere capabilities, you can login through the Pac-12 Now app or on Pac-12.com to access all seven networks anytime you want.
