Yie-Hsin Hung, chief executive officer of New York Life Investment Management (NYLIM) and Executive Management Committee member, has been named a Most Powerful Woman in Finance by American Banker. This is Yie-Hsin Hung’s debut on the prestigious list, which honors those top-performing women in finance who are making the most impact—at their companies, in their industries, and in their communities.

Yie-Hsin Hung, joined New York Life in 2010 and quickly mapped a path for NYLIM’s growth that led to the division’s nearly three-fold increase in third party assets under management to more than $311 billion1. She broadened the business’s capabilities in fixed income, equities, andalternatives and orchestrated the acquisition of Candriam Investors Group and Ausbil, which catapulted NYLIM into a global business with extensive reach in markets in Europe, the Middle East, and Asia. She also steered the company to acquire IndexIQ in 2015, enabling NYLIM to offer exchange-traded funds, an area of explosive growth among investors.

And her passion doesn’t end in the office. Yie-Hsin Hung is a member of several influential groups that champion women and Asian-Americans in asset management. She is also deeply involved in several organizations that support families touched by autism.

“I am humbled and deeply honored to be among this exceptional group of women leaders,” said Yie-Hsin Hung.

“I’ve been able to achieve much at New York Life because it is an environment that enables everyone to bring their best and to achieve excellence. It’s a special place, which empowers people to aspire to greatness both personally and professionally. I could not ask for better mentors and colleagues.”

New York Life congratulates Yie-Hsin Hung and all the women who are being recognized by American Banker’s 2017 Most Powerful Women in Banking, in leading the way to excellence.

The complete rankings can be viewed on American Banker’s website and are featured in the October issue of American Banker magazine.
