Anthony Malloy is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of NYL Investors LLC, a wholly-owned investment management subsidiary of New York Life Insurance Company. Mr. Malloy is responsible for NYL Investors’ investment teams, strategies, and overall management of the firm. He is responsible for approximately $278 billion (as of March 31, 2021) of fixed income and real estate assets for New York Life’s General Account and our strategic partners.
Mr. Malloy has more than 25 years of investment management and financial services experience. He joined the Firm in 1999 and previously held the position of Senior Managing Director and head of Fixed Income. He also served as Managing Director and Head of Leveraged Finance. Prior to joining the Firm, Mr. Malloy achieved positions of increasing responsibility in lending, risk management, and debt capital markets with J.P. Morgan, Toronto-Dominion, and First Chicago. Mr. Malloy received his BA in English and Economics from Middlebury College and his MBA in Finance from New York University.
AJ Rzad, CFA
Mr. Rzad is a Senior Managing Director and Head of Fixed Income Investors. In this role, Mr. Rzad oversees approximately $167 billion (as of March 31, 2021) in fixed income investments, including government and mortgage-backed securities, investment grade corporate bonds, high yield bonds, leveraged loans, and asset-backed securities. Mr. Rzad leads a seasoned team of investment professionals that manage fixed income portfolios for both New York Life’s General Account and third-party accounts.
Mr. Rzad has more than 25 years of investment management and financial services experience. Mr. Rzad joined New York Life in 2000 and previously served as Head of the Investment Grade Credit team where he oversaw all investment activity related to the public investment grade asset class. Prior to joining New York Life, Mr. Rzad held various investment related positions at MetLife, Lehman Brothers, and PaineWebber. Mr. Rzad received a BS and an MBA from Cornell University and holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.
Colleen Cooney is a Senior Managing Director and Head of Private Capital Investors. Ms. Cooney leads a team of investment professionals that manages a portfolio in excess of $45 billion.
Ms. Cooney joined the firm in 2009 and has more than 20 years of experience in the private placement market. Prior to joining New York Life Investments (NYL Investors LLC’s predecessor), Ms. Cooney was at Société Générale for 9 years in the bank’s debt private placement group with responsibilities for originating, structuring, and distributing traditional private placement financings. Ms. Cooney earned a B.S. in Finance and International Business from Pennsylvania State University and holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.
Mark Talgo is a Senior Managing Director, Head of Real Estate Investors, and a member of the NYL Investors Senior Leadership Team. He has responsibility for public and private real estate debt investments and private real estate equity investments. The Group's primary activities include commercial mortgage lending, commercial mortgage-backed securities investing, and the acquisition/disposition of commercial properties for both New York Life and third-party investors. He is also responsible for corporate real estate activities on behalf of New York Life. Prior to his current position, Mr. Talgo was co-head of commercial mortgage production and managed the Structured Investments area within Real Estate Investors.
Mr. Talgo joined the Firm in 1985 and has over 25 years of real estate experience. He is a member of Commercial Real Estate Finance Council, The Real Estate Board of New York, Urban Land Institute, and the Pension Real Estate Association. Mr. Talgo has a BA from Lake Forest College and an MS in Real Estate from New York University.
Mr. Fox joined NYL Investors in 2014 as Head of Strategy, Planning, and Communications and is a member of the NYL Investors Senior Leadership Team. Mr. Fox has over 20 years of experience in the investment management industry.
Prior to joining New York Life, he worked as a research analyst for two equity investment boutiques, Cramer, Rosenthal, McGlynn and Salient Partners. He worked at GE Asset Management for 13 years in a variety of roles in finance, research, and portfolio management. While at GE, he successfully obtained his Black Belt certification in Quality Assurance and led a number of strategic projects across the business. Mr. Fox received a BA in Economics from Connecticut College.
Ms. Kraus is the Head of Investment Services and a member of the NYL Investors Senior Leadership Team. She is responsible for Operations, Client Reporting, Project Management, Data Management, and Systems across multiple asset classes held in insurance, institutional and mutual fund portfolios.
Ms. Kraus joined New York Life Insurance Company in 1987 as an Investment Accountant in the Corporate Financial Department. In 1996, she transferred to Securities Operations and managed various functional areas including settlements, servicing, derivatives, mortgage allocations, pricing, trading systems, accounting systems, data warehouse, data maintenance, and project management. During her tenure, she has managed and participated in numerous systems implementations and straight-through processing initiatives including; Bloomberg PTS, Leading Edge Mortgage Backed Expert, Charles River, CAMRA, Advent Geneva, Eagle PACE, and BlackRock’s Aladdin portfolio management and risk system. Previously, she served as the Head of Operations, responsible for all back office functions. Ms. Kraus received a BS in Accounting from St. John’s University.
Mr. Nair is a Managing Director and Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for NYL Investors LLC and a member of the NYL Investors Senior Leadership Team. Mr. Nair joined the firm in 2014 and is responsible for all aspects of financial management. Mr. Nair works closely with the NYL Investors senior leadership team, including the CEO, to drive financial performance and results.
Mr. Nair has over 20 years of financial experience in the investment management field. Previously, he worked for Prudential in a variety of financial roles. Most recently, he was a Vice President, Financial Analysis responsible for overseeing US GAAP financial reporting for Prudential’s International Insurance Life Planner profit center. He also held positions as the head of finance for Prudential's public fixed income and private capital groups and was a Director, Planning & Analysis with Prudential’s Mortgage Capital Company. Mr. Nair received his Bachelor of Commerce with honors from the University of Calcutta and his MBA from Pace University. He is a CPA and has a Chartered Accountant degree from India.
