New York Life’s industry-leading Learning & Development practice ensures our employees keep pace with the changing nature of business skills and capabilities.  Our state of the art digital learning platform, the New York Life Learning Exchange (LEx), provides on demand and highly personalized skills plans with content covering hundreds of topics.  This includes both new skills we are building across the company as well as core skills that have always enabled our success.

Learners across New York Life complete more than 250,000 digital and live learning courses a year covering hundreds of topics. Structured programs such our Data Science Academy, Cyber Academy, and Finance and Actuarial Rotational Programs develop deep expertise for employees working in these areas. New York Life technologists participate in a generous “learning stipend” program which allows them and their managers to plan for participation in external skills development programs individually selected for their needs.

Performance Management Process

Impact, New York Life's performance management program, empowers employees to align their goals with the company's priorities, exchange regular feedback, and recognize their contributions to the company's success. The program features regular manager check-ins and three milestone conversations per year to set and review progress on business-aligned goals. Further, Impact offers multiple feedback channels, promoting continuous learning, development, and mutual support for employees’ professional growth.
